like in looking for the link to VDF up there i opened this article too and the example screenshots are just laughable compared to what i waste bandwidth on and Video Comparer then saves my drive space.

This isnt usually a few duplicate episodes within a series of a few hundred or something, that stuff is usually handled by my automation, this is sometimes half a dozen of the same video at slightly different lengths with different intros and endings even and different resolutions and codecs all scraped from different tube sites under different titles, times dozens if not hundreds of scenes of the same performer. Seven passes, cuz the more i can eliminate faster the less time the next stage takes. So i guess Treesize, Video Duplicate Finder, Video Comparer quick, standard, thorough, and full. Well, after a duplicate hash scan by Treesize, but those arent usually as useful for me even. I actually use VideoDuplicateFinder also as a first pass before Video Comparer because VDF takes 5-30 minutes* for a couple hundred to couple thousand files, while Video Comparer takes 2-8 hours* for the same amount, but with usually finding 10x as many duplicates, depending on what its scanning exactly. The cache file for the hashes of like 30k+ videos is a couple of gb. Like this is brute force visually comparing average frames of the video. It takes FOREVER though, especially on more than a few new videos, it goes through and generates a sort of visual hash of each file, so it pegs duplicates in completely different codecs and resolutions and even parts of longer videos. And i dont think ive ever gotten a false positive aside from some videos with the exact same very very long intro. Ive tried maybe a dozen other ones over the years, and in testing they always spit out some results, but then Video Comparer on the same folder always finds more stuff they dont, even just on 'standard' or 'thorough', not even on 'full'. I bet theres like a Plex just for JAV stuff since everything is numbered and can easily be identified and tagged.Īnd ill give Video Hubs dedupe a few spins and a fair shake, but no offense, Video Comparer is really the only program that ive ever found to work like youd think an actual VIDEO deduplication should.

Im not into JAV, but damn do i envy the ease of organization. I mean SOMEDAY ill just be able to sic a facial (giggidy) and other body part recognition AI on it all that will identify and tag the performers and acts by timestamp and everything, but when? I mean i sorta am but in a roundabout and really inefficient way. thumbnail rolls might help, but as it is filenames are still mostly a mess if not complete garbage, and theres not much i can realistically do about that at that sort of scale. Well, like i said ive got Plex for my legitimate media, but for porn that looks like a place to start maybe beyond folders and xspf playlists and vlc.
